Trip to Helsinki - Blog 3

SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER

0900 hrs – Got up had toast, ham and cheese for breakfast and got ready to go out

1000 hrs – Left the apartment and went to Sibelius Park to see the monument then we went to see the Olympic and Finnair Stadiums and worked our way back to the apartment past Finlandia Hall and the Opera House.

1345 hrs – Got back to the apartment after nipping into a supermarket to buy stuff for tea. Started making Spaghetti Bolognaise for tea.

1630 hrs – Got a taxi to the Hartwall Areena. It took about 10 minutes

1800 hrs – Got let into the Hartwall

1945 hrs – Apocalyptica came on and had someone come on stage with them to do the vocals on “I’m Not Jesus” and “I Don’t Care”. I thought they were ok but not as good as when I have seen them previously

2100 hrs – Nightwish came on and their set was:
Intro (Finlandia) – with Troy Donockley
7 Days to the Wolves
Wishmaster
Romanticide
Amaranth
The Siren - with Pekka Kuusisto
While Your Lips Are Still Red – with Pekka Kuusisto
Poet and the Pendulum
Nemo
Sahara
Dark Chest of Wonders
The Islander - with Troy Donockley
Walking in the Air - with Troy Donockley
Last of the Wilds - with Troy Donockley
Meadows of Heaven - with Troy Donockley
Ghost Love Score
Wish I Had an Angel
Outro (The Heart Asks For Pleasure First)

This was the best Nightwish show I have been to. I especially liked seeing While Your Lips Are Still Red live as well as the songs that Troy Donockley was a guest on. I also loved how the pyrotechnics that went off at the end of the show came all the way to the back of the areena.

2330 hrs – Show finished, went and waited on a taxi

0000 hrs – Got taxi back to the apartment

0015 hrs – Got back to apartment, got settled in and went to bed.
